From Zero to Market in Georgia: 800 kg/h Short-Cut Pasta Line
In 2021, a Georgian investor decided to enter the pasta industry from scratch and chose Talia Makina as the line supplier. Starting production with an 800 kg/h turnkey short-cut line, the producer earned a significant position in the Georgian market in a short time; production is still actively running today.
Producer and Line Details
Project Story
In 2021, a Georgian investor decided to enter the pasta industry from scratch. For an investor with no industry experience, choosing the right supplier was the most critical decision of the project; the investor chose Talia Makina with its turnkey model, which builds the plant and hands it over ready for production.
The project was realized with an 800 kg/h short-cut pasta line: line design, manufacturing, shipment, on-site installation, commissioning and operator training were carried out from a single source. Starting from zero, the team reached consistent production quality in a short time thanks to hands-on training and production supervision during commissioning.
The line runs on Siemens PLC-based automation with Yaskawa components in the panels. All product-contact surfaces are made of food-grade AISI 304 stainless steel. The line produces a wide range of short-cut shapes led by fusilli, penne, elbow macaroni and shells; a round-die change yields dozens of different shapes on the same line. In continuous operation the theoretical capacity reaches 19.2 tons per day.
The result is a strong market story for an investor starting from zero: the producer earned a significant position in the Georgian market in a short time and keeps its production actively running today.
Another advantage that stands out in this project is geographic proximity: Georgia is a border neighbor of Türkiye. Fast road access from our production base in Gaziantep means our technical team reaches the site in a short time for planned maintenance and any needs, and spare parts are delivered quickly. Thanks to the Siemens PLC infrastructure, instant remote support is always available. The 24-month warranty period has been completed; remote support and spare-parts supply continue without interruption.
Since 2007 we have delivered turnkey pasta factory installations in 18 countries. From Kyrgyzstan (2008) to Georgia (2021), investors entering the industry from scratch make a strong market entry with our turnkey model.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a pasta production line installed in Georgia?
Project planning, line design, manufacturing, shipment, on-site installation, commissioning and operator training are delivered turnkey from a single source. The full scope was applied in the Georgian installation; the line entered production in 2021.
What capacity was installed in Georgia?
An 800 kg/h short-cut pasta line was installed. In continuous operation the theoretical capacity reaches 19.2 tons per day.
Which pasta shapes are produced?
A wide range of short-cut shapes is produced, led by fusilli, penne, elbow macaroni and shells; a round-die change yields more than 30 shapes on the same line.
How does the process work for an investor entering the pasta industry from scratch?
The first step is capacity selection and a line layout plan based on the target market; manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operator training then proceed from a single source. Our customer in Georgia entered the industry from scratch with this model and earned a significant market position in a short time.
Can a team with no pasta experience operate the line?
Yes. During commissioning, hands-on operator training is delivered on site and the first production period is supervised; since production parameters are stored in PLC recipes, product quality does not depend on operator experience. The plant in Georgia also reached consistent production quickly with a team starting from zero.
What is the service advantage in countries neighboring Türkiye?
In neighboring markets like Georgia, geographic proximity is a major advantage: thanks to fast road access from our production base in Gaziantep, the technical team reaches the site quickly and spare parts are delivered fast. Instant remote support is always available as well.
What automation infrastructure does the line use?
Siemens PLC-based automation with Yaskawa components in the panels. Process and recipe management from raw-material dosing to drying runs automatically.
What do the warranty and after-sales support cover?
All lines are delivered with a 24-month standard warranty. In the Georgian project the warranty period has been completed; remote support and spare-parts supply continue without interruption.
Is remote technical support available?
Yes. The Siemens PLC-based automation system supports remote connection; with authorized access, fault diagnosis, parameter optimization and software updates are performed remotely. With the neighboring-geography advantage, on-site intervention is also quick when needed.
