An Established Group's Pasta Investment in Turkmenistan: Three Lines in Two Phases, 1,800 kg/h

One of Turkmenistan's established groups, active across many sectors, entered pasta production with a strong start in 2022: a 600 kg/h short-cut line and a 600 kg/h spaghetti line were commissioned together in the same factory. Following its market success, the group added a second 600 kg/h short-cut line in 2024, bringing the plant's total capacity to 1,800 kg/h.

Investment Phases and Line Details

First Investment — 2022600 short-cut + 600 spaghettiThe group entered the pasta industry not with one line but with two: the short-cut and spaghetti lines were installed in the same project. From day one it was on the shelves with a wide product range. Both lines run on Siemens PLC + Yaskawa automation.
Additional Investment — 2024Second 600 kg/h short-cut lineOn the back of the first two lines' market success, the group added a third line that doubled its short-cut capacity. Today the plant runs at 1,200 kg/h short-cut + 600 kg/h spaghetti.
Investor ProfileEstablished multi-sector groupAn established group company active in many sectors in Turkmenistan. With its ready corporate infrastructure and distribution power, it scaled quickly in the pasta category and reinvested within two years.

Project Story

One of Turkmenistan's established groups, active across many sectors, decided to enter pasta production in line with its growth plans on the food side, and chose Talia Makina as its turnkey partner.

The first investment in 2022 set the scale of the entry from the start: a 600 kg/h short-cut line and a 600 kg/h spaghetti line were installed together in the same factory. The group thus entered the market not with a single product family but with both short-cut shapes and spaghetti at the same time; its ready distribution power carried this wide range to the shelves quickly.

The lines run on Siemens PLC-based automation with Yaskawa components in the panels. All product-contact surfaces are made of food-grade AISI 304 stainless steel. The short-cut lines can produce dozens of shapes led by fusilli, penne, elbow and shell with a round-die change; the spaghetti line produces in 1.2 and 1.5 mm diameters.

The result came quickly: on the back of the first two lines' market success, the group added a second 600 kg/h short-cut line to the same factory in 2024. Short-cut capacity doubled; the plant total reached 1,800 kg/h (theoretically 43.2 tonnes per day). A customer choosing Talia Makina again at the growth stage is one of our most frequently repeated reference patterns.

Turkmenistan is also a link in our Central Asia presence: our line running in Kyrgyzstan since 2008, our seven lines across three factories in Uzbekistan and our 4,000 kg/h installation commissioned in Kazakhstan in 2025 make the region one of our densest reference geographies. All lines are delivered with a 24-month standard warranty; after the warranty, our spare-part supply and technical support programme continues. Since 2007, we have completed turnkey pasta factory installations in 18 countries.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a pasta production line installed in Turkmenistan?

Project planning, line design, manufacturing, shipping, site installation, commissioning and operator training are carried out turnkey from a single source. In the Turkmenistan project this scope was applied in two phases: the short-cut + spaghetti lines in 2022 and the second short-cut line in 2024.

What capacities are installed in Turkmenistan?

Two 600 kg/h short-cut lines and one 600 kg/h spaghetti line are installed in the same factory; 1,800 kg/h in total, theoretically 43.2 tonnes per day in continuous operation. Talia Makina delivers turnkey installations with single-line capacities from 500 up to 6,000 kg/h.

Which pasta shapes are produced?

The short-cut lines can produce more than 30 shapes led by fusilli, penne, elbow and shell with a round-die change; the spaghetti line produces in 1.2 and 1.5 mm diameters.

Can a short-cut line and a spaghetti line be installed in the same project?

Yes. Both line types can be planned and commissioned in the same factory within a single turnkey project. The first investment in Turkmenistan followed exactly this model: in 2022 the group installed the short-cut and spaghetti lines together and entered the market with a wide product range.

Can a new line be added to an existing factory later?

Yes. When the layout is designed for growth, a new line integrates into the existing plant. The second short-cut line added in Turkmenistan in 2024 was commissioned smoothly next to the 2022 installation and doubled the short-cut capacity.

What automation infrastructure do the lines use?

All three lines run on Siemens PLC-based automation with Yaskawa components in the panels. From raw-material dosing to drying, process and recipe management runs automatically.

Where should a multi-sector group start a pasta investment?

The first step is a capacity and product-range strategy for the target market. In the turnkey model, design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operator training proceed from a single source, so the group does not need to build a separate engineering team; existing distribution and corporate infrastructure turn directly into an advantage. Our customer in Turkmenistan reached three lines in two years with this model.

What does the warranty cover?

All our lines are delivered with a 24-month standard warranty covering parts and workmanship. After the warranty period, our spare-part supply and technical support programme continues.

Does Talia Makina have other installations in Central Asia?

Yes. Our line in Kyrgyzstan has been running since 2008, we have seven lines across three factories in Uzbekistan, and our 4,000 kg/h installation in Kazakhstan was commissioned in 2025. Together with the three lines in Turkmenistan, Central Asia is one of our densest reference regions. Since 2007, we have completed turnkey pasta factory installations in 18 countries.
